Head retention

Ommegang is available all over here in Rockland NY. so maybe i will go out and buy one of these

 

Some of what I've seen is frankly ridiculous from a practical point of view. I enjoy drinking beer not getting a wet nose.And you should be able to get a pint of beer into a pint glass.
I remember talking to a head brewer about it. He said "I could get greater head retention if I used cheaper , lower grade malt.But the gold standard is Fawcett's floor malted Maris Otter and wouldn't use anything else even at half the price"
Head on a beer is like oil in your car. Once there is enough there's no point in keeping on adding it.
