Will be traveling to Anaheim a few days in late May, hitting the brewery and noble, and bottle logic. Was wondering if there are some bottle shops that might have any Pliny laying around or anything else cool to grab. Cheers!
I don't know about Pliny there, the locals can fill you in better. For good bottle shops there's at least one right in your path that's pretty great. Out in front of The Bruery there's a little shop that has a sign on the back of it facing towards the parking lot of The Bruery. They have a really good selection. When I was there they had Toolbox, Council and a lot of other great breweries. No slouch for whiskey too.
Total Wine Brea gets a case or two of Pliny either on Tuesday or Thursda of the week. Not every week but pretty consistently..Delivery would be between 12pm-2pm if you want to try your luck.
Skip Pliny and go to Mr. K's if you hit up The Bruery and buy a bunch of other IPAs. Not worth the hassle of chasing Pliny when I'm sure you have yet to try many other amazing IPAs from the local breweries.
Hollingshead in Santa Ana gets it. Not sure the day but they normally have a decent tap list if they dont. A bit pricy but nothing too extreme
Thanks for all the info. If I run into pliny, I'll try it but not chasing it. The local ipas are more of a priority, just didn't know if pliny was around!
Get the TapHunter app. It'll help direct you to what you are looking for while your stay in the LA/OC area. Plug in Pliny as a favorite and hopefully it'll direct you to the pub or place when it's tapped. Otherwise, enjoy all the best ipa's in the world. A few place where Pliny bottles may show up are Hollingheads Deli, Stearns Liquor(Long Beach), Mr Kegs, Hi-times, some Whole Foods in the LA/OC area. Wine Cellar (Long Beach), etc. You should call before heading over for PtE bottles.
I wish people would stop with the "skip the Pliny" nonsense. We get jaded living here, but remember, it's still a fucking great beer, and it's on a lot of people's bucket lists. Yes, Noble and Beachwood and El Segundo are killing it . . . we get it already. We all have a pretty good idea of where the Pliny often is; just help a brother out.
