If you can get to Al's (Pizza Boy), you can get your growlers filled and they have a bottle shop. It's probably 1/2 from Hershey, but if you're traveling route 83, you'll pass pretty close to them on your way in/out.

PA is weird but things are slowly changing.

As for bottle shops there's not a whole lot in the area. The Brass Rail (http://www.brassrailbeverage.com/) would be the closest to the park. Bottle shop/deli on one side and full beer distributor (cases, 12 packs, and kegs only) on the other side of the building. Other close options would be Rotunda Beer Co. (http://www.batdorfrestaurant.com/rotunda-beer-co/) and the The Union Beer House (https://www.facebook.com/UnionBeerHouse/?fref=ts). Nothing super crazy at any of the three but you should be able to get a few local beers out of them.

As @zekeman17 said above it's not super close, probably about 30 minutes away, but Al's of Hampden/Pizza Boy Brewing is the place to go in the area. Usually around 100 beers on draft (http://www.alsofhampden.com/beer.php) with 30 or so of their own brews and a wide selection of local and non-local beers. They do crowler/growler fills of most and they also have a small selection of bottles/cans to go. Bonus points if Bourbon Barrel Sunny Side Up is still on this weekend.

Does Pizza Boy still offer no samples, effectively making you fly blind when getting growler fills?

Thanks for the tips! I'll have to look into the places mentioned and see if I can squeeze any of them in. I highly doubt I'll make it to Troegs brewery though.

Any weird laws for buying beer on Sunday? At the worst I'll try to grab some stuff on my way out on Sunday.

Apparently they now offer flights. I couldn't understand why this was the only brewery on the planet that didn't serve flights . . .

No weird beer laws on Sundays. Some places may have limited hours or may not be open at all. We have some great beer here, but I don't think it's worth going out of your way for.

Is this true? When did they start that?

Can't answer that, but I know it's recent.

I would check out troegs tap list and see if anything jumps out at you, particularly the scratch beers, they are pretty much one off that you may want to fill a growler with. they also have scratch beers (not necessarily the same as on tap) in bottles to purchase in the gift shop.

for bottle shops the brass rail is probably easier to get to from hershey than Al's, but depending on your timing and travel route, Als isnt too far of I-81. they are the only two I know of in the general area.

Have you personally gotten one, or just heard that? I would just be very surprised if he started doing them. If he did, good for him though.

I just can't imagine where he would put flight glasses. Plus, the lines are long without doing flights, I can't imagine how slow they would be if everybody was ordering multiple beers instead of just 1.

I heard or saw that somewhere because I was quite surprised knowing his personality from his recent posts. I would check the website or their Facebook page.

Cool, let me know what you find out.

In the meantime, I would recommend for anybody going to Pizza Boy/Al's to plan on not getting flights. I haven't been there yet this week, but last week I didn't see any small glasses for flights.

I don't know how to prove that I posted while sitting in the establishment you are talking about immediately after confirming it with two employees who were working at the time of my question. Congratulations, you got me...

    Enjoy your flights and samples.

    Your sources are incorrect.

What's your agenda? I was there yesterday there's a sign saying no flights or samples. You want Al himself to tell you his rules?

No, I would rather not speak to him. Regardless, still don't believe you.
