I was there last summer and I was surprised by the no flights, or samples rule. I had a great time, but there were a few beers left on the list untried due to the 8oz. rule. Fortunately the bar down the street from me in Boulder has as good, if not better, tap list everyday. Don't Feed the Trools...

We're going to sit here and compare the beer selection in Boulder to the beer selection in Harrisburg, which is completely overshadowed by Philadelphia's market? Please. There are 5 bars - at most - in the Harrisburg area that have an excellent selection and Als is one of them.

Rules are the rules. There's only so many pint glasses, chalices and 8 ounce glasses one can fit in the bar to keep the weekends running smoothly.

You can Absolutely compare the tap list at Al's of Hampden and an average bar in Boulder, because of the number of quality breweries that distribute to PA and not to CO. The list is rediculously long and often times confusing. The reason I mentioned my local bar in Boulder in the Al's of Hampden post was so I didn't seem like I was complaining about the no flights, or samples rule. As far as the only so many pints, chalices, and 8oz. pours comment, I'm not sure how that explains why a bar/brewery with over 100 taps doesn't offer flights/samples? As long as it makes sense to you, That's Cool.

My guess is that they don't have the staff/room to be able to do flights. The line already gets long at busy times. Adding flights the lines would be ridiculous causing people to stop coming. That's my thoughts on it.

You're correct. Only catch is 16oz pours and one at a time.

    Visit went great

Did t make it to PizzaBoy but spent a good amount of time at Troeggs, food was unique and atmosphere was great.

Went to BrassRail for bottles/cans- staff was knowledge, prices were on the high side in my opinon.

Went to Smoke for dinner. Great tap selection..I would absolutely recommend for drinks, food was very underwhelming.

Stopped at SpringHouse on my way back. Love the location and set up, beer was ok, would go back again if I was in the area.

I know I am missing a few things
