Real excited to put myself in an early grave. But, the better reason to do Mt. Snow is that it is in Vermont, the land of Heady Topper and Hill Farmstead. I read at a beer store near Mt Snow will more than likely get their next shipment in the fall and said that this is the case for most of southern Vermont. Does anyone know or can point me in the direction of the nearst place to Mt Snow that i may find either HT or anything from Hill? I guess I could go to a bar and have it on draft if I have to. Thank you everyone!
You will quickly discover that VT is the land of Magic Hat, Otter Creek, Long Trail, and Harpoon.... ;-)
It's on tap at about three or so place and they're all in Waterbury, HF will also be pretty doubtful. You should be able to find cans though. Have fun at the Tough Mudder I've done the past two at Mt. Snow, sitting this one out though.
Medetrina in Chester, VT usually has a few cases on hand. The Pizza Stone in Chester has been known to have HF on tap on a regular basis. These are the closest places I know of that are reliable. In the past I have been told that Meulemans in Rawsonville & The Smoker's Den in Bennington have carried HT. Your best bet is to call ahead before you show up. Supplies of HT can be suspect around these parts especially during the Summer months. Oh, and I usually keep a few four packs in the fridge.
When I did the Tough Mudder in May I went to Bennington Discount Beverage. It was about 45 minutes from Mt. Snow but it was a pretty good drive through the Green Mountain Natl. Forest and I was able to grab a case of Heady. I called ahead and double checked that they had it. http://www.alchemistbeer.com/heady-topper-retail-map/
You guys are great! Meulemans is the store I had checked that mentioned a fall shipment. I'll call Bennington Discount Beverage to see what they might have. I have heard to many good things about HT to not try it before death. Farmstead just resonates with me. Farming... beer... wine....it's great "Magic Hat, Otter Creek, Long Trail, and Harpoon" I can get these in CT. I would love to do Allagash and others too...but I have limited time and resources...
