I will be coming out to Beaufort SC, 3 weeks for work. Specifically the 3rd-23rd I will possibly have a couple days during that time to venture around and was curious if anyone had any recommendations as far as breweries, pubs, and or stores to check out. Also if there is anyone that is close to Beaufort and interested in doing an IP trade of any thing from the west coast please BM me before I head out. Take Care and Cheers.

Beaufort is a quaint little historic seaside village. Its got a cute little downtown and waterfront, and a cool little dive bar called Hemingways that serves up a nice pint of Guiness. Unfortunately from a beer advocate perspective, its a dead zone. Enjoy the views and the seafood and the atmosphere downtown, but if you want to chase good beer, your only about 45 min (maybe a little less even) from Savannah. They have some solid spots. You are about 1.5 hours from Charleston. 5 breweries (all at least decent, a couple very good) and also a shit load of beer destinations (beers bars, beer stores, etc) Do yourself a favor and get to Charleston at some point during your trip. Savannah's not as good but its something, and its closer.

If you want some good craft beer in Beaufort I would check out the Piggly Wiggly close to Parris Island on Ribaut Road. There are two Pigs in town but only one with craft beer. They have 26 beers on tap on the growler station. They also have a 6 packs, bombers and a mix and match six pack section. You won't find many rare beers, but they have a lot of local beers.

Also for local places with craft beer on tap check out Fat Patties, Q on Bay and Old Bull Tavern.

Please don't base the East Coast on Beaufort ...lol...no offense to them please. As others have said Charleston SC is the place to go...TONS of amazing places to eat and some great craft beer bars along the way.

I was just in San Diego for a week and when I got back to NC I was just as happy with the locals beers here for the most part as what I got in CA...and most of my favorites there in CA I get here too....the best of both worlds!!!
