I'm heading to Bethany Beach in a few weeks with my family and I'm looking for some help with beer. I'm from the Pittsburgh area and I'm looking for some beers that aren't available in the area. Do you all have any suggestion for places to go or beers to look for?

    Thanks for your help,

    Scott

Your best bet is in Rehoboth. Beer stores Atlantic Liquors and Outlet liquors on Route 1. In the town of Rehoboth you have the Dogfish Head, Finns, Henolopin Oyster House and Arean's all have good tap selections.

Don't rule out a short trip west to visit Evolution. You won't be sorry...especially if you get a growler of Lot 6.

Dont miss out on Burley Oak Brewing in Berlin, MD, like 5 minutes out of ocean city. The only things I know about in Ocean City are Anthony's deli around 33rd street has the best selection of bottles I've seen in the area(which is still not much), and Late Nite beer/liquor/wine around 66th st. (makes me wonder whats around 99th st, I'll have to check that out, but probably nothing) usually has a couple(literally) good craft bottles. There was one store right around the Ocean City / Fenwick Island border where I saw DFH Wrath Of Pecant (which I think was brewery release only) and later found some year-or-so old bottles of DFH World Wide Stout (I love when I can buy beer thats already aged!). But theres not much to the area, I would definately hit up Dogfish Head Brewpub and Burley Oak Brewing. Evolution and the Dogfish brewery are a little further away but not far, and usually worth the trip. Dogfish was selling vintage bottles when I was last there so thats always a nice score.

16 Mile Brewery is in Georgetown, 30min from DFH in Rehoboth. It's small comparitively but they're a pretty chill group. I've helped them bottle their beer before, and the tasting room is quite nice (pretty new).

What is Burley Oak like? Do they have a taproom where you can buy pints, or is it just tours/samples/growlers? Their website doesn't mention anything but growlers. I'm going to Rehoboth this weekend and Fenwick next month and I'm looking for a nice rainy day backup plan, should we run into such an unfortunate occurrence. I was planning to go to Evo but this looks closer.

Burley reminded me a lot of Evolutions previous place in Delaware if youve been there, Burley is a little bigger though. They had a bar where you could get taster "flights" or whatever you want to call them, and pints, and growlers. I highly recommend their stainless steel thermos style growler. They also had a live band playing one night I stopped by, definately a nice place to hang out.

If you stop in DFH, be sure to get a pint of half 120 & half world wide stout; also known as 'aroud the world in a 120 days'. Worlds greatest black & tan!

Are the stainless steel growlers made by Hydroflask? If so how much are they? Hydroflask's are awesome!

Yes they are! And they sell them for $44 filled, thats cheaper than just buying the hydro flask from hydroflask.com. I freakin love mine, but I use it every day for non alcoholic beverages so I need to get another one. Its great to have in this heat!

Thanks! My wife thought I was crazy at first when I bought a few but now she doesn't go anywhere without one, they are amazing.
