I will be heading to Boston in a few weeks and was hoping to get some suggestions on beer, bars, or breweries I should plan on checking out while I am there. I'd love to maybe pick some stuff up to bring home but also enjoy a drink or two while I'm out there. Any and all suggestions are welcome, thanks!

Trillium is a must stop if you're in Boston!

100% make the trip to Trillium, if you can, try out Night Shift in Everett, great place as well with seating etc

Cambridge Brewing Company, easy walk from Kendall Station in the red line. Then swing over to Lord Hobo, short walk away. Avoid Meadhall, nice tap list but prices are absurd.

Trillium and Row 34, right next door, is also a good 1-2.

Also, a lot of this depends on where you are staying in the city, so some guidance there would be helpful.

Night Shift brewing. Only downside is its in a dumphole.

Have you been to the "new" location? The old one was lousy but the new one is pretty nice - food trucks, cornhole, lots of space.

If you are sticking with just Boston you absolutely MUST visit Trillium as I believe it is the best around town. As far as Bars Row 34 is right next door and has a good tap list.

If you are getting a taxi or uber or whatever, I would suggest Night Shift in Everett, as it is a nice taproom and usually has good food trucks on site. Also if you are going there I would stop by Mystic and Idle Hands/Enlightenment as they are all very close to each other. Lord Hobo's in Cambridge is another bar with a good tap list.

If you are getting a rental car I would suggest Jack's Abbey as they are another great taproom with some of the best lagers around as well as there Framinghammer variants. And if you are heading that far, why not keep driving down the Mass Pike to visit Tree House Brewing. Another world class brewery that is now starting to offer cans as well as growler fills.

+1 for Trillium, CBC, Jack's Abby, NSB. I'd also add Harpoon to the list, considering it's so close in proximity to Trillium.

If you’re hitting Night Shift, definitely hit Mystic as well, it’s just a couple miles down the road. The 2 breweries make an awesome 1-2 punch if you have the time to spend at both…never get why I see recommendations for one but not the other. Mystic’s taproom is a top spot that I feel gets overlooked sometimes – great space, chill, beer is good and often interesting.

Above all else, Trillium is the must hit for bottles to bring home. Agree on Row 34 just next door, it’s great, just a heads up that it’s more of a higher-end seafood joint, not your typical beer bar or pub.

Agree w all above -- other great beer bars in addition to the Lord Hobo and R34 as follows. If you really want to get a feel for the heartbeat of the city...check these places out.....
    1. Deep Ellum out past Fenway Park in Alston -- as good as Hobo. A special place
    2. Public House heading out of Boston on the edge of Brookline -- as good as Hobo and DE
    3. Doyle's in JP - Down the street from the Sam Adams pilot brewery/tour place. Doyle's is an absolute Boston Institution -- go just to check out the painted murals on the walls.
    4. For the classic Irish Pub take -- go to Plough and Stars between Harvard and Central Sq. You will think u r at Temple Bar
    5. Davis Sq Somerville for Redbones (excellent tap list and very good ribs/sourhern BBQ) -- then the Burren across the st. You could spend the day at Davis Sq (or Harvard/Central Sqs for that matter) -- super vibrant areas w/tons of things to do.
    Cheers and good luck....

The area still isn't great, but yea the new spot is awesome. Almost had my door taken off parking, I suck at parallel parking

Definitely Row 34 -- they might have the best beer list in Boston right now. Trillium is right next door and is also a great visit, although they do not offer tastings at this time. Eastern Standard has some great reserve beers as well -- they're right by Fenway Park. Deep Ellum/Publick House/Lord Hobo are all great stops as well, but if you're going to pick one I would go with Publick House.
