I went to Devils' Purse last year and waited almost on hour for a few crowlers. I understand it's new, but the operation seemed ridiculously slow. The beer was decent but certainly not worth the wait. I'll be bringing some with me for the 4th of July week.

Ha. I came here to ask if they had figured out a faster setup yet. Same as you, stopped in last summer and it took 45 mins just to get my samples. When I asked for a Crowler after sampling, I was told to get in the line that was now out the door. I liked the IPA, the others were meh. But happy to give them another shot, particularly on draft around Chatham.

Does Devil's Purse have distro in Hyannis? I usually shop at Moonshine and will skip trying the brewery if I can just buy it off the shelf. I can't justify the wait to pursue beer on a family vacation.

I, too, was curious if they had become more efficient because far as I know they are still just bars only for draught.

What bars are getting Devil's Purse on tap? Be down in Chatham this weekend.

    Moonshine, I'm good.

I believe the Skywave saison is the only beer that is packaged for retail sale. To get anything else you need to fill a growler/crowler at the brewery or visit a draft account.

I had their beers at Del Mar last summer. ESB and Kolsch I believe. Although, my sneaky beer spot in Chatham is the impudent oyster. Expensive for dinner, affordable for lunch and they are the only place I've ever seen Naukabout's White Cap IPA, which I think is great. The bar is also cool, a lot of dark wood and local flair. Usually Harpoon or similar on the other taps.

Only place I've ever seen it. Not great reviews, but I've enjoyed it every time I've had it.

Man, I used to go there all the time when my parents lived in Chatham. Unfortunately, I mean fortunately, they moved to NJ :grimacing::grimacing: several years ago to be closer to my sister's kids and my kids. So the the Impudent Oyster still a good spot to eat? I like the Squire too but I don't remember the beer selection being too great.

Beer selection is still far from great. I think they usually have cape cod red on but that is about it

And just to be clear, impudent oyster is not a beer bar. It's an old school restaurant with a a dark wood bar that has 3 taps, one of which I drank the hell out off last summer. And The Squire hasn't changed either, except the bar crowd on weekends in the summer feels more like college kid Boston scene than cape cod. Outdoor bar Chatham Bars Inn can also be fun as they let you grab a beer at the bar and then wander down to the beach and the cabanas. Did that last August and had the "drink until they ask us to move" approach to the cabana.

Edit: And the food at the Oyster is still awesome. Best on Chatham, IMO. Followed closely by Del Mar.

This site updates the Plymouth ,Sagamore and Sandwich bars that usually have something to wet your whistle.

Not really the vacation land of the cape but some decent spots to stop for a few good beers.

The Land Ho! has a Devil's Purse tap. Love the Surfman' Check.

Bottle shops in Orleans: Windmill is really good for variety. Some interesting stuff at the liquor store in the Shaw's Plaza as well.

For the best bottles, I find Moonshine in Hyannis to be the very best. I can always walk out with something that gives me pause. The usually have really fresh Night Shift offerings (huge plus)!

Luke's in Hyannis is a bit sketchy (watch your dates) but waltzed out with a Big Bad Baptist last month!

In Hyannis, I'll usually go to Tap City Grill for a bite and a qualitY beer menu

I will be back in Dennis, near Sesuit Harbor in July. I've been in North Falmouth the last few years. I know Luke's in Brewster is my best bottle shop, but is there anyplace with good beers on tap in Dennis on the bay side? Looks like Chapin's has Devil's Purse, Lagunitas and Limbo plus Cape Cod Red...which is good enough for me.

I was spoiled by Quahog Republic in Falmouth, which had MO on tap last summer among other tasty things.

Heard Hog Island is a new brewery in Orleans. Social media is treating it well.

"Hog Island Beer Company is poised to be Cape Cod’s only brewpub when it opens this summer.
Hog Island will be a separate establishment, connected to the Jailhouse through the kitchen area. It will have two bars, including one for beer samples, and beer hall-style communal seating. In total, it will seat 149 guests, and it will also have a patio overlooking the lawn, which the owners beautified last year. Wide doors will connect the indoor and outdoor spaces, McNamara says."

They bought the old Cape Cod Beer equipment - The three-vessel brewhouse and three fermenters come from Cape Cod Beer in Hyannis

Inwas drink some good beer in Ptown last week. They are stepping up their game for sure. Things like Be Hoppy, Raver 5, Founders Sumatra and BBC Coffehouse porter. And on the way in and out I stopped at Swansea Yankee Spirits and picked up good stuff like Trillium and Banded Horn Daikaiju.
