Going to visit family this Friday-Monday, haven't been down for a almost two years. Last time I hit what was around... NoDA, Old Meck, Birdsong and Heist breweries and Brawley's, Common Market and Good Bottle shops.

I see there a bunch of new breweries in Charlotte and just over the border in SC. What should i definitely not miss?

I will be at Triple C and Sycamore as I friend is passing through town at the same time and already suggested meeting up at those.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

If you have never been to a Duckworths, i would suggest them as a definite stop. The uptown location has almost 200 taps. If you want an incredible dinner and taplist, the Cellar in the basement of the uptown duckworths is as good as it gets.

Based on what you hit previously, you are on the right path. I would say you missed my personal favorite bottle shop Salud in the NoDa area. Great tap list, bottles to go and get a wafflwich!! Once you are there absolutely hit up Free Range Brewing (check hours online). Wooden Robot and Sycamore brewing in the South End are fantastic and putting out a large variety of beers.

@cptbenjamin Thanks. i believe I did get up to Salud last time, I remember going to a Fish Taco place near there. Just checked their website and I like the bottles. Lot's of Wicked Weed and even some Haw River.

If you have a car Fonta Flora is releasing two beers this Friday. They are a bit outside of town but making wicked awesome beers.

I second Free Range and Wooden Robot. Great mix of styles and all very well made. Good atmospheres too. Free Range is super laid back.

Cabo Fish Taco on Davidson is not to be missed IMO. The BBQ Mahi tacos are the best Ive ever had:

@aleckpa - you going to the release? I hear Brine is intense!

I forgot and I can't find details but supposedly a bottle release this weekend at Heist. BA Cataclysm I believe.

I'll also be in Charlotte this weekend on business from Michigan. I always stock up on a few bottles to take home. What are some good staples I should look for? Especially any seasonal beers out right now that I could get my hands on. Thanks in advance.

NoDa Hoppy Holidays just released this week. It's available at the new location (North Tryon) limit 2 4pks/person and saying should be in distro next week.

Not sure if you can get it in Charlotte or even outside of the NC taproom but maybe try to snag some BA Ten Fidy

Yeah, I'll probably stop by after work Friday, if not Saturday on the way to Asheville. I've only had a sample of Brine, but I didn't care for it. I really enjoyed Brackish.

I figured that but also caught word that a place in Maryland is doing a tap takeover this Friday with OB and Breck with BA Ten Fidy in the lineup. Maybe it is showing up on draft around NC as well?

Shhhhhhhhhhh. It's going to be garbage:wink: I had the Cat 2 when it was on draft and it was amazing. Very Bourbon County like. The Barrels they put it in weren't too shabby either. This is sure to be a good beer. Shhhhhhhh

FYI, Fonta Flora is delaying the release of their Beets, Rhymes, and Life bottle Friday. They're still releasing Brine.
