    Hi NC BAs,

I'll be down in Charlotte for a wedding in about a week and I'm wondering if anyone would be willing to offer some recommendations of bars or bottle shops while I'm in town. I probably won't have a ton of down time but I thought maybe I'd hit up 1-2 places if there was anything interesting on tap from local breweries at the moment.

    Cheers,
    Ryan

I'd recommend Salud (3306 N Davidson St, Charlotte, NC 28205) they are very close to NoDa brewing and Heist Brewing and usually have NoDa cans in stock in case you can't get any HDR from NoDa. Heist is a fun place to stop, their belgian styled beers are interesting, and their tapas are really tasty.

Wedding reception is at "Toast" and we're staying at the Omni downtown. Looking forward to exploring the city a bit when I can. Thanks for a couple of the responses I've received so far, your recommendations are certainly appreciated.

Is NoDa available on tap in many/most places? I can look while I'm there, I just don't have any sense for how available it might be to try on tap around town.

    Cheers!

Yes, I have seen it on tap at quite a few places, honestly when i am in town and need to figure it out, I just do a local trending beer search on untappd and it usually points me to somewhere that might have it. NoDa has had HDR on tap everytime I have been there, and they have a couple cool brews currently, a Gose and a BBQ beer.

Yes Noda is on tap in abundance but finding Hop Drop on tap is harder now.

Toast is close to Bulldog Beer and Wine. Nice little bottle shop and bar (not the best in town but it literately only a few hundred yards from Toast.

Downtown the best beer spots are Mellow Mushroom, Brixx Pizza, Alexander Micheal's (true hidden gem for food), Dandelion Market, VGBG, and Queen City Q (I am sure I am missing some).

The Noda neighborhood is a short 5 minute drive from Downtown. Noda and Birdsong Brewery are next door to each other. Heist Brewery and Salud bottle shop are just up the road.

Southend neighborhood is also a short 5min drive (opposite direction) from downtown. Triple C, Lenny Boy, Unknown, Olde Mecklenburg are all pretty close to one another with Olde Meck being the furthest. Good Bottle Co is nice bottle shop and bar. Common Market is a cool spot to grab a beer (to drink or to go). Lots of good places to grab a bite to eat.

    Awesome recommendations, thanks!

IF I had room in my checked bag for a couple of local bottles (that are actually available in stores) do you have any that you'd suggest?

^^^ Salud has some Wicked Weed in stock (normally) so that would be one. Olde Hickory Imperial Stout as well.

Yeah grab the Wicked Weed beers. All unique and damn tasty. Some places still have some Olde Hickory Event Horizon. Get one of those as well (I believe Brawley's still had some last time I was there).
