Hey Everyone - I'm going to Charlotte next week on Tuesday, will be staying in uptown. I'm a local of Durham. Does anyone have any recommendations of beers to pick up to bring home? I've had hop drop n roll before. Thanks!!!

Hit up Salud and Free Range brewing. The new Duckworths location is pretty cool and the brand new speakeasy in the basement is great. I just went tonight and they had a great draft selection!!

We don't really have much that you can't get in RDU but we do have Birdsong Jalapeno Pale Ale. It is absolutely fantastic if you enjoy the jalapeno taste (no heat, just the pepper taste). It is their biggest seller and 4 pack of tall boys are available at most bottle shops for $9.

Triple C has some barrel aged beers that are pretty tasty if that is your thing. Not sure what Triple C stuff is still on the shelves though as most of their BBA stuff is released in the cooler months. They also can their 3C IPA which is pretty good. but nothing "special".

Noda Coco Loco is a great coconut porter and that is available in tall boy 4 packs at all bottle shops (and brewery).

As others mentioned, if you are staying uptown, Uber it to Birdsong Brewery, Noda Brewery, Free Range Brewery, and Salud bottle shop. All the places are along North Davidson St and a cheap Uber from uptown.

Check that, Free Range isn't open on Tuesdays. You could sub in Heist Brewery (more of brew pub with good food than full on brewery). It is also on N. Davidson.

Thanks - This was a great response and exactly what I was looking for.

I think I'll definitely take an Uber out of Uptown and head to Birdson, Noda, Free Range, and Salud.

Definitely interested int he Jalapeno, sounds like a treat!

I will say that Heist's beer is pretty tasty these days. Their brewer there is making some really strong stuff! Their Grand Optimist is the truth, among others.

Noda does a smaller release every Tuesday. It's right across the street from Free Range. Salud is not too far from there and I heavily suggest going there if nowhere else.

As far as uptown, Duckworths is the new place to go.

It should be noted that Free Range is only open Thursday- Saturday currently.

You only need one recommendation for downtown......Duckworths. 150+ taps of amazing beer upstairs and a high end beer/cocktail/gastropub downstairs. No one ever in the history of beer will ever be disappointed with this option.
