I'm from Jersey and heading into Connecticut tonight... Any good bars or beer stores I should stop at? Also, any beers I should try to pick up that are not available around me?? Thanks!!
If you want a couple of good stores - try Fairgrounds in Danbury next to the airport & the mall and Ancona's in Ridgefield.
I was going to say I feel sorry for you when I read the title of this thread but then you admitted being from Jersey so I guess CT is a step up. Anyway, New England Brewing Co. is your best bet.
booo @ Kinsman... where in CT you headed? I love Coalhouse Pizza in Stamford and Plan B Burger in Milford... also Prime 16 in New Haven. Try to stop by New England Brewing Co for sure... they are awesome

I'd swing through ardsley NY and go to diccios market. Once your in CT, where where ever you decide to go, pick up some NEB or Berkshire Brewing offerings.

Speaking of New England Brewing, tonight is Final Friday. For a small cover ($5 i think), you get live music and beer (Sea Hag, Gandhi Bot and Saison will be on tap). See their fb page for details.
Plenty of great bars and good breweries in Connecticut. I'm most familiar with the Hartford area, where my girlfriend is from. There, I'd recommend Plan B and the Half Door, both in West Hartford, I believe. I also don't think you can beat the vibe at Eli Cannon's, with their pretty strong beer list and beach bar out back. If you're heading out to the eastern part of the state, Willimantic Brewing Company is great. And while I've never visited them, I have only great things to say about New England Brewing Company (NEBCO) outside New Haven.
