heading to DC next week for business, probably near 1101 15th St NW #500, Washington, DC 20005. Interested in good places for lunch, dinner, breweries/brewpubs and general beers I can get my hands on to bring back with me.

Churchkey for lunch. Churchkey for dinner. Churchkey for any time you're outside of business...

Whole Foods on 15th and P for your bottles.

Both are short walks from you.

Connecticut Avenue Wine and Liquor (1529 Connecticut Ave NW) and Cairo Liquor's (1618 17th St NW) are a short walk west of the P Street whole foods. I think it's less than 20 minutes to walk from the Whole Foods, then Cairo, and then Connecticut Avenue.

Cairo is a pretty good store with usually good prices, Connecticut Avenue tends to be more pricey - but also takes advantage of DC's really lax beer laws. If you're willing to pay, you'll almost always find something great there.

ChurchKey's not open for lunch during the week. Only on Saturday and Sunday. During the week they don't open until 4.

Unfortunately Meridian Pint and Smoke & Barrel also aren't open for lunch during the week. Your best bet for lunch is probably one of the Pizzeria Paradiso locations.

True true... You could hit Whole Foods for lunch.. They have good stuff on tap and that food bar is the best I've seen at any Whole Foods.

Churchkey gets crowded, but a good selection. POV is good for overpriced sierra nevada overlooking the best view in town. Hay Adams across from the White House is good for food and a quiet drink. Dupont Circle has Big Hunt and Pizza Paradiso.

Apparently you have to ask for fresh "hot" donuts.
I stood in line for 15min and got my 2 donuts and chicken biscuit. Then as I ate my biscuit, I saw a bunch of people ask for hot donuts and they pulled them out of some magic drawer as opposed to the glass case next to the register.

The donuts themselves were kinda sub-par compared to Zeke's DC Donutz (which is sadly no-longer open), but they did have beer - I'll give them that.

Wow, Zeke's is closed already!? They made it a whopping 6 months or so. Must've been a colossal failure! Alas.

...which is a shame, because I really liked their donuts.

I think relatively the same thing happened (re: the vent) to that burger joint that everyone was flocking to. Rogue States? I think it's called Black & Orange now.
