I forgot to mention that our tour was cancelled. We will still be in Germany for the same time period.

    We revised our schedule slightly:

June 3 - Arrive Frankfort - evening in Miltenberg
    June 4-9 Bamberg
    June 10 - Ausfeß
    June 11 - Furth-im-Wald
    June 12-14 Regensburg
    June 15-16 Salzburg
    June 17 - Depart München

If anyone wants to meet up for a beer, let us know, our schedule is flexible.

Wish I could meet up...sounds like a great trip. Are you planning on skipping across the border from Furth-im-Wald to the Czech Republic. Best Tmave Pivo I ever had was from a tiny (now defunct) place in Domažlice -- apparently there are still some gems to be found around the area. Speaking of Czech-style dark beers, Kathibrau just outside of Aufsess makes a delicious Dunkel/Kellerbier, and the Keller itself is a real treat.

...also, down the hill from Aufsess in Tiefenellern is another favorite, Brauerei Hoenig. Love their (very, very rustic) Lagerbier/Kellerbier. They also have a nice Rauchbier and a good Pils.

Wish I could meet up, but those are exactly the dates I will be in Scotland.

If you wanted to depart from your schedule and head to Garmisch-Partenkirchen to have a beer at Germany's highest beer garden, I'll be climbing Zugspitze that weekend and would be happy to meet you at the top.

The reason we are going to Furth-im-Wald is to go over to Domažlice. I read Evan Rail's book and I want to try the Kout na Šumavě beers. There is (was) a pub in town serving their beers and at one time the train station was pouring their beers. We're going to give it a shot. If nothing else, we'll find some good Czech lagers. Since we're stepping out of our comfort zone, we are considering it an adventure.

We are doing the Brauereinweg when we go to Aufseß so we will be visiting Kathi Brau.

Garmisch-P is a bit off our planned route. Have a great time!

I regularly go over there to buy Czech beer cans. Beers good and there's no deposit on those so in a festival situation it's a lot more convenient. There's also a bunch of nice small Bavarian places between Regensburg and there :grinning:

I was at the train station when they served Kout beers in Domažlice. It was soo awesome, and so cheap.
    I loved it.
Aren't Kout beers in general more aviable now than a few years ago?

I just figured that when it was posted in September it was open. So, as of today, only 4 brauereien in Regensburg.

We'll try again tomorrow or Sunday if we have time.

We went to three today. We didn't feel like walking all the way to Bischofshof. Heading out to Kneitinger Keller.
