Heading to Key West from Michigan

    Taking a vacation, going to be down there for a week, any suggestions for bottle shops and what to pick up or bars to check out while in the area. I have heard that its a craft beer wasteland but I was hoping I heard wrong. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Krawl off Duval has a surprisingly excellent craft beer selection for the area. They'll have stuff like Terrapin, Bell's, Shipyard, Dogfish Head, Stone, etc as well as Florida beers like Tequesta Brewing, Inlet Brewing, Holy Mackerel, and Florida Beer Company ... they have 26 taps, IIRC. That's unrivaled in the entire Keys. YMMV, I haven't been there in a while, but looking at their facebook (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Krawl-Off-Duval/178941635481516) it looks like they're doing well.

    The bottle selection kinda sucks there. Just a fact. Perhaps a KW native can chime in about bottles? My experience mostly comes from the Upper Keys and we'd go North to Miami rather than south to get bottles. :slight_smile:

    No idea about good bottle shops in Key West but there are several bars that serve craft beer. Krawl is a good one, also check out The Porch and there is a bar connected to (and owned by) Sloppy Joe's called Joe's Tap Room that has some good stuff on tap.
