Going to the Browns vs. Dolphins game in Miami and was wondering if there's anywhere other than J. Wakefield that should be on my radar for after the game? It's a Sunday, I believe the 25th.

Dolphins/Sunlife/Margaritaville/Joe Robbie stadium (or whatever we are calling it now) is in Miami Gardens. Without traffic it will take about 20-25 minutes to get to the Wynwood area (with traffic could take you 1-2 hours after a football game) where J Wake, Concrete Beach, and Wynwood Brewing are located (they are all on the same street, so I say check them all out). There are also some great brew-forward restaurants and bars in Wynwood as well - Kush (food and beer are terrific), BXLDR (beer bar), Butcher Shop (food/beer). All of these places are walkable or a short drive from each other. You can drop them into Google Maps and see just how close they are. Walking around Wynwood is also pretty awesome, lots to do and see and cool shops to pop in and out of.

If you are planning to go to other beer-forward areas in South Florida, feel free to ask as Ft. Lauderdale and Boca Raton/Boynton Beach are also newly burgeoning brewery areas of South Florida.

    Enjoy your trip!

Miami Gardens, I believe you meant to say. Palm Beach Gardens is 90 minutes north.

Ok, didn't really think about traffic, but I guess I should have. Anywhere close in Miami Gardens that would be worth checking out?!

@Morey there is nothing in Miami Gardens. @TheMonkery gave a great rundown of places to checkout in Wynwood.

Yup. Middle of nowhere basically. Lots of parking though, which allows for fun and ample tailgating.

Even with usual traffic it should not take you more than 45 mins to get to Wynwood from the stadium.

Tootsies (strip club) is about the only other thing worth checking out from my knowledge in Miami Gardens, not the safest part of town right now. You have Funky Buddha in Oakland Park which is probably 30 minutes north of the stadium depending on traffic.

There's a Total Wine in North Miami Beach which is only about 8 miles from the stadium but it could take you 30+ minutes with normal traffic. If you have the time, I'd check out the Wynwood/Miami recommendations or head to Ft. Lauderdale

Kush (my fav beer geek spot and their gator bites rock), Boxelder, Wynwood Brewing - all good to check out in the Wynwood area.

Funny, just scrolled up before posting and saw Monkery threw out the same places almost verbatim

If you're able and willing to drive about 30-45 mins north, I'd definitely check out Civil Society Brewing. They have a can release on Saturday - their IPA Fresh is well worth it imo

If you go west and then south on the Turnpike from the stadium you could get to MIA Brewing in about 30 minutes. Traffic will likely be better heading that way after the game

MIA is a great spot and definitely easier to get to after the game.

Tank is not open yet I don't believe.

Biscayne Brewing opens this weekend though, which is also in doral and about 10 mins from MIA

MIA Brewing is severely underrated. I would actually recommend them before any other brewery in Miami, but that's just me.

Lincoln's Beard also opened up recently, but they're only brewing super small batches, so sometimes it's just guest drafts

I'm going to be in Ft. Lauderdale this Mon. - Thurs. are these places open daily? I'm being lazy but seems like we have some knowledgable locals who can provide more than I'd dig up from web sites. Thanks!

totally agree. the amount of own beers they have on tap is ridiculous. Such great variety and some really unique beers

haven't been to Lincoln's yet, but I'm excited about them. Have heard great things about the space and owners/staff
