Heading down this Saturday for a week long vaca with mi familia. I believe our house is in Salvo. Any good beer bars, brewpubs, etc? I've dome some google research and haven't found a ton of good spots.

Also bringing down a few cases of mixed Focal, Crusher, Rapture, Heady if anyone lives close and wants to set up an IP for a couple 4 packs. Thanks in advance.

Well Outer Banks posts come up semi regularly here are two:

Only issue is the pickings near the Hatteras/Salvo area are pretty slim. If you do make it to the nags head area hit up Trio& Chips for bottles and definitely stop at obx brewing station.
I only wish I was going down I'd love to trade for some Focal or Crusher, have fun on vacay.

Definitely stop in the Kill Devil Hills area on your way down to Hatteras . You will pretty much go right by Trios , Chips and OBX brewing . Not sure whats down there but I wouldn't expect much . Howard's Pub on Ocracoke Island is a cool place .

If you come down the Eastern Shore to the CBBT Grape and Gourmet in Va. Beach is the best beer store in the area .
I would be up for an IP trade if I have anything you might want . Mostly Stouts . Have had Heady a few times but would love to try the others . I live about 10 mins from this end of the Bridge Tunnel

It's a beautiful part of the world and I would recommend provisioning well from the outset. Just being there and not having to go travelling around is always my M.O. Have fun!

Yeah, I don't travel around to much down there but they touched on the great spots. Trio is the place to go to get a pint or a bottle to two (they also have a great Goatcheese dark chocolate cheese cake), the Brewing Station needs to be visited and it's a great place to eat.. the food is outstanding and you can pick up a 4 pack of their lemongrass wheat which was good this year. Also, if you like history, check out Manteo Island (it's close to y'all going towards NC mainland) cool stuff to see and they have a brewery call Full Moon. Decent food, cool people, small place though, but this year they had a Stout aged in Jack barrels that was ridiculously good. No fills of this though.

Stop in Richmond VA, check out bottle shops there to fill a cooler with and enjoy for the week.

We're heading down to the Outer Banks in about a week and here's what I've found.

Most of the bigger grocery stores will have, of course, the standard BMC products and some craft selections (Sierra Nevada, Sam Adams, Highland and Ska were at Teeter last year). Chip's and Trio are real close to each other in Nags Head; Trio has more taps (24, IIRC) and food while both have a pretty good selection of craft bottles. Outer Banks Brewing usually has pretty good food and their beer is solid.

As mentioned above, if you get over to Manteo, Full Moon has some nice brews that are more in the English style.

Depending on your route in, Weeping Radish in Grandy and Chip's other location in Moyock may be worth a short stop. Have heard great things about Grape and Gourmet in Virginia Beach (as noted above) but haven't been able to check them out since they are closed on Sunday and we've been renting Sunday to Sunday lately.

as said before hit up Kill devil hills/Nags head area (my favorite beach in NC if not the east coast) and check out OBX brew station.

Are any of these places going to have Wicked Weed bottles? I'd like to try it.

Thanks! Guess I should look into doing a trade or two when I'm there.
