Be sure to relay your experiences to us.

Are you a Purdue fan/alum? [grin]

Hey man! I remember and have notated your suggestions on an earlier thread. I am a Purdue fan, not an alum. I grew up in Crawfordsville and half my family was IU, and half was Purdue. I couldn't stand Bobby Knight as a kid. I thought he was such a dick! Lol. On the other hand, I loved Gene Keady's passion and, um, quirkiness. Grew up watching Troy Lewis, Everette Stephens, Chuckie White. Never missed a game on TV. So been a die hard Purdue fan ever since. Also a football fan, of course. I will certainly relay my experiences. Thx for reaching out.

Hey me too, I'll piggyback your thread Bob instead of starting another, I am visiting for the first time Wednesday. I've been lurking the Pacific forum for the last week or so reading up, I'm planning to hit up Societe, Modern Times, Alesmith and Stone at the very least. Hopefully some time for a few more.
If anyone knows of anything in particular I should be looking for at a bottle shop to take back, Id love to hear your .02. I've checked seek-a-brew for distros but more like "hey this seasonal release is out now you have to grab it."

Awesome! You're arriving just in time for record high temperatures - SCORCHING mid 80s. Those are all great spots to check out. If you have a free afternoon, you should really think about making the drive to Alpine. It's only a 30 minute drive from SD, and on weekdays the pub is decidedly quiet and relaxed. Alpine's as good a place as any to stockpile bottles to take back with you.

I also recommend checking out one of the Pizza Port locations if you get a chance. Their own brews are great, and they're good spots to try out other local beers, as well. I'm partial to Pizza Port Ocean Beach, and it won't suck to be a block from the beach when its 85 and sunny.

Aso for bottles, I know that Bine & Vine in Normal Heights updates their facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/BineVineBottleShop) when they get new stuff in, so you might want to keep your eye on that. Almanac's sours and Port's Older Viscosity pop into my head as beers worth picking up that I saw at a few shops over the weekend.

I just want to second this! Llast year when I was out there, Alpine and Ocean Beach Pizza Port were highlights of my trip. I also leaving with a bunch of bottles from Bottlekraft.

What is the availability like on the sours from Almanac? Any other local/regional sours that are worth seeking out?

Need help ASAP! I have been researching Stone Brewery, and there are a few locations that keep popping up. Not sure which one is the one I should be going to! The actual brewery please????

The Escondido location is the large production brewery. I think the Liberty station has a pilot system or something along those lines.

Thx, but where is the taste room? The biggest selection on tap and some goodies to bring home? Something keeps popping up close to the airport.

That would be correct. If Pete is going on a brewery tour he should do Escondido, but otherwise it probably doesn't matter which one he chooses - though the gardens at Escondido probably are somewhat more interesting that the bocce courts at Liberty Station.

If you end up with a rough idea of your itinerary for any day, post it here - maybe a BA or two could meet up with you.

I just got back from San Diego. Loved it! My favorite was Alpine (out of there, Alesmith, Monkey Paw, and Pizza Port).
