Hello everyone, I am heading to Santa Monica and Malibu for an upcoming wedding this weekend and was hoping for some insight about local breweries to visit and notable bottle shops peruse. Possible Brewery stops: 1. Beachwood 2. El Segundo 3. Smog City 4. Others?? Bottle Shop Stops: Thoughts? Any help / assistance is greatly appreciated! Thanks.
I would certainly vote for all three breweries you mentioned above, in the order that you listed them. Beachwood Long Beach has Beachwood beer all the time versus Seal Beach which sometimes has them but has great guest taps. For bottle shops, Wally's in Westwood and Beverage Warehouse in Marina Del Rey are probably your best bets. For another good restaurant choice with a great beer selection, check out Father's Office in Santa Monica but show up earlier than later (like when they open) for the chance at a table.
I'll add the Library Alehouse to your bars list to hit. I haven't been yet, but you should try and hit up Monkish Brewing in Torrance. I've been meaning to stop by there for a while, and hear good things.
2nd Father's Office. get there early (open at 5). order the burger. no, you can't get ketchup. if you go to Smog City have to also go to Monkish, which you can walk to from there. also Strand is worth going to if you're in Torrance. White Sand IPA. taste it. free samples. cool people
