    Hi all,
I am heading out to Tukwila next week for a couple of days for work and I am looking for suggestions on places I can check out while I am there. I won't have a ton of time to explore but I will have a car so that should help. I am staying about 3 miles away from the airport out there and would prefer to stay somewhat in the area. Any suggestions on places with a good beer and food selection? Also, any bottle shops in the area? Would love to pick up a bottle or two of Cascade and Logsdon if that is available in the area?

    Cheers,
    Mike

It's more than a couple miles but for bottle shops, I'd probably head south to 99 Bottles or north to Beer Junction, both outstanding shops that you can reach without hopefully getting too badly snared in our lovely traffic.
    Enjoy your visit!

He could get to either shop without venturing out on I-5 if he has a good navigation app on his phone.

He could simply head south on International and basically run into 99 Bottles. He could get to Beer Junction by heading north through Burien.

Silly me, I forgot that Seattle traffic is limited to I-5. :grinning:

Phone navigation app, GPS on rental car, or (perish the thought) a map... yes, there's more than one way to get to these shops. The best route will all depend on when OP plans to go.

Oh, and OP, if you think you'll go to Beer Junction, call or email the store ahead of time. Morgan is awesome about replying to specific questions so he might save you a trip. I was in there yesterday picking up a couple bottles of Cantillon , don't recall seeing Cascade (though they probably have some), but I'm 100% certain they had several different Logsdon beers.

Personally, I would head to Beer Junction up in West Seattle. You can get there easily without messing with I5. If you're looking for some good NW beer on tap and some bottles to take home. it's one stop shopping. 20+ taps plus something like 1400 bottles now? Chill laid back shop without any "attitude". Morgan, the owner, can hook you up with some great bottles. Plus, there are still lots of Fresh Hop beers still around.

Awesome! I will shoot him a note... any chance there is still Cantillon left?

I will have car and don't mind the drive to much. I get in around 4:30 on Wednesday and have the evening to do as I please. Long day on Thursday though but might have some time on Friday morning to check some stuff out also.

Great to hear about the Logsdons and hopefully they have some Cascade!

I couldn't say, it was all behind the counter. I shot Morgan an email before heading over yesterday and he promptly responded that they didn't get much, but that they still had some. I got one each of the Gueuze and Kriek, but seeing any Cantillon in Washington is a very new situation for us; in fact, I may have just hurt your chances by mentioning it. Sorry about that.

They also have/had a couple 3F beers, which of course I forgot about when I was there. That also is pretty new for us.

Thanks, just shot him an e-mail. I would imagine he would save most of the Cantillon stuff for locals but maybe if I bring him some Surly and ask nice he will save me a bottle

I think Morgan basically sells beer to people who walk into his store and ask for it. That's how most places around here seem to operate, which I believe is the fairest method. I doubt he'll set any bottles aside for you either, which is also as it should be.
