Heading to Toledo Zoo this weekend.

Black Cloister is right downtown, just off I-75. Belgian beers with tons of one-offs and specialty beers along with guest taps.
Also downtown is Maumee Bay. It's got a kitchen and makes good food. They are bottled as well, so you can grab some to take home.
The best place to buy beer to bring home would be The Anderson's, which west of the zoo.

I had the same scenario last year and someone else had posted just the day before. Guess Toledo makes Michiganders thirsty. Some of the recommendations are old (for instance, Ballast Point is now available here) but otherwise some solid recommendations in that thread. Have fun! If you haven't been since they've redone the Aquarium, it's really impressive.

 

Anderson's on Talmadge is my go to after taking the family to the zoo. Weird store as a whole but awesome beer selection, lots of singles out of Michigan distro.

 

The aquarium was under construction the entire time we lived down in Adrian. We were members so we ended up there often but that sadly never got finished.
