Do they sell bottles at the brewery? What's on tap at the moment you would recommend? Wondering if there are beer shops somewhere nearby that sell bottles? Where in the area to eat dinner w/ the family - 3 kids under 14. Thank you for your time and assistance. Cheers, Scot
They do sell bottles at the brewery. Not sure what's in right now (probably Florida Sue for sure). I might be heading up there tonight myself, so I can leave a post about what's on tap/bottles if I get there. For family dining, I'd go with Mabe's Pizza. It's a Decorah staple, and they'll deliver into the TG taproom (which is very kid friendly). T-Bock's Sports Bar downtown and Good Times Sports Bar right next door to TG are family friendly. Both have pretty good food too. For bottle shops, the Oneota Co-Op has some decent selection from time to time, but I'd stop in at The Courtyard/Cellar. They always have something interesting on tap, and they have some really good bottles for sale. The owner posts here sometimes, IIRC. Outside of these options, Decorah doesn't really have a liquor store/bottle shop.
TG keeps their Facebook page up to date with what they have on tap and available to purchase (growler fills too). I've seen Clark mention several times on Twitter, the best thing to do is call the taproom to get the most up to date info. I'd guess 1492/Lightspeed/Dorthys/Pseudo should all be available by growler or bottle.
Definitely check out the cellar, also The Angry Pickle is a great place for food and is family friendly! But you can never go wrong with Mabes! Just call TG and they will tell you what they have for bottles.
From TG's facebook on the 1st: On tap this week: Dorothy's (no growler) psuedoSue Golden Nugget Smoove Opferator (no growler) Rover Truck (no growler) We have bottles of ZeeLander, 1492, 6 packs of Dorothy’s, 4 packs of pseudoSue.
