At the end of this month I'm going specifically to Plano, but Dallas and Fort Worth are just a stone's throw away. So my question is are there any stores or breweries, in the immediate area, where I can snag some brews that are rare to the East Coast to take home with me? Thanks in advance!

Gotta respond due to your awesome username - it's one of the songs my band covers.

The obligatory list of TX breweries. Lots of good ones in DFW - Peticolas, Lakewood, Deep Ellum, Community in Dallas....Rahr, Martin House, Revolver if you want to make a little drive...plenty to choose from.

As to stores - a Spec's and a Total Wine just opened in Plano but there are multiple locations around DFW - google them and Central Market or Whole Foods. Also in Plano is Keg and Barrel on 15th and S&K on Spring Creek. Other stores a little further away are Lonestar out in Carrollton and Hall's in Colleyville. And look into Craft and Growler - growlers are the only way to take Peticolas back with you which I would highly recommend doing.

I live in Plano so hit me up if you need some more info - bars and whatnot. Or just spend a couple hours going back through the southwest forum...its all in here somewhere.

If you want a place in Plano to hang that has good local beer and liquor check our Jack Mac's Swill and Grill. The easiest to find local beer that I'd recommend taking back is Lakewood Brewing's The Temptress. Lakewood also makes Goatman which is pretty popular but not my favorite style.

Hit up the Meddlesome Moth in Dallas one night. You won't be disappointed.
