    Is that fair trade?

I'd say fresh heady for fresh Jai Alai is a fair trade.

Its a fair trade but it's not going to happen. I prefer Jai Alai to Heady but the limited nature combined with the hoarding and attempting to trade heady for whales atm means nobody is going to trade you heady for jai alai. They could easily get Jai Alai without planning a trip around trying to go on the right day to get heady. Hate to brake it to you but the Vermont trading scene sucks right now since there are few traders in upstate VT, lots of amazing limited beer, everybody wants it, and everybody trading it has decided they only want whales in return (my apologies to the few good BAs who don't; I raise my glass to you).

If you want one beer and you have another beer that someone wants, then it's generally a fair trade. Simple as that.

Well, that's one way to get people to want to trade with you....

Try offering something that isn't Jai Alai.

Pursue good trade relationships with good BAs and you will get things like Heady easily in trades, or even as extras.

Make statements like this and you won't have anyone trading you Heady, or anything else for that matter.

Seriously, though....there's gotta be something from Ohio that you can get your hands on that would likely trade for HT. Offering an IPA from Florida that isn't nearly as much in demand probably isn't the best way to go about this.

Perhaps a list of "gots" would aid in the process.

EDIT: How about Columbus IPA? Do you have access to that?

Considering we get Jai Alai up here, I'd be a lot more inclined to trade heady for some Head Hunter or White Raja. Luckily I have good trading partners and don't have to hit up the iso:ft board to get my head hunter fix

I have access to head hunter, white rajah, Columbus ipa... I carry them all... to be truthful I didn't think those were in fair trade. I figured something from CCB would be. But I'm still learning the value on beer for beer, thanks for the advice guys

Value is incredibly subjective, and each person is going to value different things differently

Were I in your shoes, I'd post in the ISO:FT forum: ISO: Heady Topper FT: Jai Alai, Head Hunter, White Rajah, other OH beers and see if you get any bites. We get a lot of different brews up here, but there's a lot of gaps too. Is OH one of those places that still has bcbs available? We got a tiny amount and it's already gone. That might be helpful. Really you just need to start trading, so you can establish some reliable trading partners. That way, next time you need something you can talk to them instead of feeling like you're in the dark and not sure what to offer on the open forum.

    Cheers!

No, unfortunately we got none. It is over our 12% abv cap.

IMO, there is nothing wrong with the trade other than a VT trader saying that the beer that you are trying to trade in particular is readily available there.

I've traded "shelf" beers for HT many times (FFF regulars/seasonals, Sun King, etc) so you don't have to offer super rare things to get some HT, just high quality beers that are not available in VT.
