I plan to make a run to get some HT in a week and a half and was wondering what other good hard to find beers would be worth it for me to stop and grab during the trip. I'm coming up from south eastern PA.

Hills farmstead is on the list, also Lawson. But I'm sure I'm missing some other options. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Vermont has insane distribution. Hit Hunger Mountain Co-op in Montpelier.

Stop at New England Brewing Co on your way through CT.

Make sure to constantly check The Alchemist's blog before you go. HT sells out rather quickly.

Hunger Mountain Co-op is awesome, but dont count on them having any Heady Topper on a weekend. They usually run out by Friday... as does the Alchemist! Hope you aren't planning on a weekend!

Agreed, definitely check his twitter https://twitter.com/alchemistbeer

PS check this place out http://themadtaco.com/ in Montpelier and Waitsfield... sooo good, and they usually have Heady to enjoy with your tacos

Also my favorite brunch in the world (great burgers too): http://www.kismetkitchens.com/ - fresh, local ingredients, perfect VT food.

Have you considered diverting your route through Boston and dropping me off a few cases of Yuengling? It's an option, and I would pay you for your time and cost of beers.

I am also planning a HT run to the Alchemist on Wednesday, and figured I might as well drive by Hill Farmstead while I'm somewhat nearby. Any advice on what I should pick up at HF (should I make it that far)? I've had 0 HF brews here, so it's all new to me.

For $5 you can get 4 tastings so I highly recommend that to help you decide on growler fills.
    Cash only.
You can bring your own growlers as long as they are not clear.
If they have any Prolegomena or Elaborative in bottles get them.
What is Enlightenment and SS3 are must fills for me personally, but get some samples and decide.

Pick up whatever is available at HF. You won't be disappoionted. If you don't like the style, trade or give it to someone.

I second that, if you aren't going to make many trips get as much as you can.

I'm planning day trip to Vermont in the near future to get groomsmen gifts for my wedding. I figure some HT, Hill Farmstead, and Lawson's selections with accompanying glassware will be right up their alley--especially since most live in Chicago or NY and don't have easy access to these great beers.

I can't take off work to head up to VT. I was thinking of heading up Friday, July 5. I know Heady is canned Monday through Wednesday--any chance it survives July 4 to make it to the 5th? Or am I better off trying my luck on the previous Saturday?

It looks like HT cans now on Mon-Tues-Wed. So If I go on a weekend, can I get a couple cans anywhere in the state? I'm not looking for a case, just a few cans
