Heady Topper

There might be some overlap with hops but if you don't use that Conan yeast you don't taste like Heady Topper.

 

Haven't had them together but my experiences with each were that they are vastly different beers.

I would like to do Carton 0077X next to Heady blind to see if I can tell the difference though. The Carton brew seemed like Heady Light when I had it.

 

I also thought Permanent Funeral was a little more "heavy metal" tasting. Wink, wink**

 

Who's Heady Topper? Is Permanent Funeral a beer?

 

Not similar at all. PF is world class and prob the best FFF offering, even over zombie dust. Heady is good, but quite frankly I'm sick of seeing it in the #1 slot on the 250.

 

I don't find them to be particularly similar, and like PF about 10x more than I like Heady. With that being said, I'd love to get over to Vermont and give an entire case of Heady a shot. For my money though, PF is probably the best DIPA on the market (followed closely by Abrasive).

 

I don't think they are even remotely close to be honest. Permanent Funeral is much more bitter and intense. Heady is much softer. Permanent Funeral is more similar to Hop JuJu to me while Heady is more similar to Abrasive, Sip of Sunshine, or Sucks.
