So you didn't think the offer for rare was fair? But his shipping bill would be like 3x what you would have to spend!

Sounds like Ebay pricing $300 plus at least $100 shipping, I'll take 3.

Speaking for someone who just started trading last month, Vermont locals and nearby states that get Heady have been super genorous to trade with me for my local Cigar City stuff. I can't say enough how good the peeps out there have been to me, you just have to ask nicely and be able to put a good product in their hands as well.

I'm lucky enough to have a buddy that goes up to Burlington once a month and stops in Waterbury to pick up Heady for me (and himself) every time he goes up. I usually have him snag me a case with the sole purpose of trading out anywhere from 2-4 of the 4-packs. I love to trade Heady and with at least 8 trades centered around Heady, I have never once asked for anything other than great locals at $4$. I also throw in a can as an extra any time I have one in the house.

Hell, the first time I traded HT is was FT: 8 cans of Heady Topper ISO: Growler of Masala Mama. I ended up going $4$ and snagging a 4-pack of Coffee Bender as well.

To point, score a bunch of Thumbprint stuff from NG and you won't have a problem moving it for Heady if a trader is to be found.

If you really want Heady Topper, shoot me a BM in October (I already have almost all of my September haul lined up to go out) and I'll trade it for some delicious localness.

In short, if someone is trying to get an arm and a leg for it, don't do it. Find a stand-up BA and be patient. Some of us love to share the goodness but we can only share so much goodness before its gone.

If you do an ISO with these beers as trade bait, and offer to send first (I saw your page, slim pickin's for references), or perhaps Lakefront, or other fine Wisconsin beers you may have easy access, I bet you can land some Heady.

i think bourbon barrel barleywine would be guaranteed to get it. i've wanted to try that beer for a long time... i'd probably take a hiatus from my trading hiatus to trade heady for it, though the heady i have at the moment i wouldn't trade (i think it's on the tail end of freshness; why introduce someone to 3~4 week old when you can buy it and send it off a couple days after it's canned?).

edit: p.s. not sure how hard it is to get CW BBA barleywine, btw. doesn't matter though; i'd trade HT for it even if it's always on shelves.

I am searching for Cigar City stuff as it is unavailable where I live and I am close to The Alchemist, maybe we could work out some trading

Maybe toss out some Ale Asylum as well, I had a pretty good IPA from them last summer.

Sure thing i'm always glad to get CCB to the folks who can't get it, it's really good beer!
