Got a chance to try this (on tap) and it is delicious. A bit of vanilla in there and nice and robust. So much flavor that I think it will take over Siren as my favorite dark beer from Heavy Seas. I'll be drinking a lot of these.

Bought some the other today, have yet to try it. But I'm pretty stoked to give it a shot!

I've really come to enjoy Heavy Seas a bit (it's actually made my list of eventual Northern VA - DC, Maryland and Delaware stops). Hope this makes its way down to VA (specifically the peninsula).

I think it will be part of the regular line up, along with the session IPA Crossbones.

Wasn't a big fan, when I had it at the first tapping during their Anniversary party. However, the Crossbones cask was quite good. I'm interested to see how it is out of the bottle though.

It was just really hard for anything to stand up against the last keg of Bourbon Barrel Below Decks.

Its basically the Chocolate Thunder Porter from the old General Lafayette. Chris Leonard (former owner of the General) is the head brewer at Clipper City now.

Interesting. Where did the old head brewer go?

I haven't found this yet BTW. I have seen Crossbones though (which it was canned).

I think one of the former Heavy Seas Brewers is with the not yet open Caboose Brewing in Vienna, VA.
