Just checking to see what New York State craft beer and or newer beers that may be at Hegedorn's this week? My father-in-law will be coming to visit for Easter and I was hoping to send him here to get me some stuff I can't get here in PA.

Last time I was in there I saw a decent amount of Jolly Pumpkin stuff, I don't think you get that in PA (maybe in Philly). I also saw some Abacus from Firestone Walker.

Is Dave still sending those out? Ever since the site changed I haven't gotten any updates.

Ditto. I've emailed him privately through the site, but I don't think I've gotten any of his group updates.

After talking with Dave, its seems like Hegedorns has a lot of good stuff. Really not much different than I can get here in PA, though. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, I'm pretty sure that PA gets more breweries than any other state (or we're very, very high up on the list). And given the fact that we share an extremely large border, there aren't a whole lot of places that will distribute to one state, but not the other. If anything, it's much easier to come to PA and get things that aren't available in most of NY (Bells, Founders, and Terrapin come to mind).

My suggestions for NY but not PA: Goose Island and Great Lakes. If you're not adverse to expensive bombers, Three Heads is a relatively new Rochester brewery, and their beer is good - just too pricey for me.

What about horseheads? We rarely see any in Buffalo so its always a point to pick some up when in Rochester.

i have tried a few of three heads stuff and it is good, and yes a bit pricey. Horseheads may be a good option. Although I just spoke with my fatherinlaw and he prefers to go to Beers From Around thh World for convienence purposes! Feel bad now, especially because I just spoke with Dave yesterday and told him he would be in.
