Going to a wedding in Medina, staying in Strongsville (yes, going to Brew Kettle fo sho!) but was also hoping to do some bottle shopping. Can somebody give me a recent overview of the Heineins in Strongsville? The reviews here are pretty old. Cheers!
Heinen's is pretty good but I'd watch out for old beer (unless you're into that kind of thing). If you have a little bit of time you can shoot up 71 to Lakewood to visit Rozi's Wine House. It has a great selection and you can be sure that stuff hasnt sat for a year. Its probably 15-20 from Brew Kettle. There are a couple other bottle shops are in Lakewood too, Simone's (watch for some older bottles here as well) and Mini Mart (same deal on the age) along with some killer beer bars, specifically Degan's and Buckeye Beer Engine (which also brews their own stuff).
White Rajah, Head Hunter, and Columbus IPA all sell quickly there and should have been stocked in the past 2-3 weeks. If they have it. I saw the first two there yesterday. They have the largest selection of anyone in this area unless you travel to Rozi's. And they have the largest selection and best selection of any heinens in town for that matter. They do have a fair amount that is sitting. Rob is the beer guy there. Ask for him and hopefully he's there when you visit. He knows knows when everything came in and how long it's been there. One more thing, route 18 in medina is about 10 minutes from the Lizardville in Copley. That would easily be worth the trip. And the new Hoppin Frog tasting room is another 10 minutes from that. Just sayin
10 minutes away from Brew Kettle is Circle A Beverage and Royal Vine, both located in North Royalton. Royal VIne always has Columbus IPA. Went to Rozi's for the first time in a couple years last week and they have really improved their selection.
