Has anyone been to the recently opened Heist Canteen? I know it's a soft opening at the moment. Was hoping to check it out on 2/9, especially if they're showing the UNC vs Duke game.
If anyone has the details of the Place, please submit the listing for approval... I haven't seen much about it except a single article.
It's not a new location really. It is just an expansion within the existing building...does that count as a new spot? Hoping to stop in a few days to check it out. I like the idea of self service and not worrying about lingering around tying up a server if I am just there are a beer or two..
Hey guys, it's Eric. Glad to see people talking about The Canteen. As previously stated, it is (and isn't) an expansion of Heist as we know it. We decided on self service for the reason that NoMoreBeerBelly eluded to. We are currently hoping to operate on a Thursday Friday Saturday, 4-till schedule until you all push us to expand hours. We truly want to hear recommendations and questions so please let us know what you think. Cheers guys.
Wow, pretty cool concept! I could see the severs missing out on my tips when I get feeling good and chatting them up. Part of the fun though.
It's a great spot and welcome addition. Big projector TV in the middle (Duke-UNC will assuredly be shown), few other TVs flanking the sides, complete A/V system to put the sound on. Two digital draft boards to choose from, including guest taps. Also a guest bottle list as well. Very easygoing vibe, can order from the bar or grab a table (they have a few floating servers). Also a small snack menu from the kitchen there. As stated, it's adjacent to Heist brewpub so can just walk through the doors if you want a cocktail/the bigger menu Kurt, Eric and the team at Heist did an incredible job with the Canteen. For sure worth checking out.
