    I don't believe they distribute.

You mean other breweries to check out? Wooden Robot and Legion would be my two other suggestions. Wooden robot does crowlers and Legion fills growlers and half growlers I believe. Juicy Jay at Legion is awesome.

Wooden Robot does growlers as well, if that's more interesting to you than crowlers for some reason. Or at least they did the last time I tried to get a growler of something.

Somebody managed to get one recently. They're Untappd verified, so you can select what they have on tap and look to see if anyone has posted pics of crowlers recently. I imagine they probably play it by ear depending on how busy they get and how many kegs of IPAs they have left.

Also, I second Juicy Jay from Legion and Wooden Robot in general as places for IPA fans to check out when you're in town. While I'm at it, Triple C's 3C IPA is good and Sycamore's Peak Farm and Countryside are good too.

I asked the bar tender the same question when I saw people posting pictures of crowlers of V.10 on Untappd and was told they sold crowlers on the release day of Blurred Up cans a few weeks back.

Few weeks = 3. 3 x 7 days per week = 21 days. Today is 2/22. That would make "a few weeks back 2/1. Crowler date is 2/18...

Thanks for the replies. I'm gonna call them next Thursday when my parents are in town and see if they will. Thanks.

I think the bottom line is that their policy is inconsistent at best. Might depend on supply...might depend on the bartender at the time. Might depend on whether or not one of the head honchos is sitting at the bar when you order an IPA crowler. Who the fuck knows?

But they definitely don't stick to any single policy. And it's frustrated me into just going to Legion for to-go beer instead.

fwiw worth Heist is not "behind on production". Their beer is highly coveted and therefore difficult to acquire.

The brewers judge how much they have and decide whether or not to allow crowlers for that day/week whatever the case may be. There is a method to their madness. They have to take care of the brewpub first.

So Friday 2/17 - not enough NFC to fill crowlers...but Saturday 2/18 - there was more available and crowlers were a go?

I guess I can get on board with that strategy in the end. But it has to be communicated somehow - on website or via social media. It's a real bummer to show up not knowing whether or not you might be able to leave with beer.

I've labeled this as a "no beer to go" establishment because of it's inconsistencies.

I understand your point. It would be frustrating. I think they are experiencing some growing pains for sure.i know they are working on expanding, so sometime soon hopefully this situation will be alleviated.

Haha, wow, completely overlooked the crowlered on date, my bad! Looks like someone got lucky for sure then. Both times I've been the last couple times, I was denied.

Edit: This will teach me not to reply right after I wake up in the AM.

Isn't that the definition of 'behind on production'?

What's the frequency on can releases? Looks like a little over a month.

I don't think there is a set time between releases. Depends on brewing schedule, mobile canning line availability etc.

Heist is not responding quickly enough to demand. They have been too slow to invest capital into production and they for sure don't lack options for infusing massive amounts of capital into their business. Given the market and their success, they don't have to give up an arm and a leg to fuel their growth. Many of us have been rooting for their success for a long time and I for one will continue to do so. Their offerings are so good, so it will be a real shame if they can't get out of their own way. Right now, they are doing a terrible job of communicating with the folks that have supported them and helped to create their momentum. Great product is only one half of the equation. They are falling short on the customer service and social media when compared to their brethren.

Consistently release cans, communicate availability and limits on social media, and only allow crowlers when you can support it, otherwise no crowlers, period.

I havent been following for that long but this seems to be true to me. As craft breweries continue to open and the market becomes more saturated this will become a big factor.

I think its part of the reason why breweries like Veil and OH do so well. Apart from doing weekly can releases which builds hype they post almost daily.

Then again TH hasnt posted on IG since early january.

True, but Tree House has an entirely different supply and demand problem. TH manages lines with the very best of them and they went huge when they broke ground on their production expansion. I'll bet the one thing that keeps the Tree House team up at night is making sure that they maintain their quality as they prepare to brew at an exponentially larger scale.

Definitely. I think its amazing that Stone and specifically Sierra nevada can keep their quality the same. Its impressive. However there are some breweries that have gotten big and quality has gone down (cough DFH cough).

It will be interesting what happens in 5 or 10 years. There will be a lot of breweries closing due to increased competition which for the consumer will hopefully be a good thing. I like the neighborhood/community model though. Owner of Monkish has been quoted as saying they could expand if they wanted to but not something there interested in which I think is cool.

Heist crowlers are on and off, and you really have to go there to see what's up. I don't mind as I know I'll always leave happy.
Can releases average about once a month or so.
