Yeah, but wouldn't their trademarks have to do with their respective industries?

Dark Horse Comics doesn't sell beer normally. I'm sure they'd take legal action if Dark Horse Brewing published a comic book.

Dark Horse Brewing did take legal action against Dark Horse Distillery:

I know Dark Horse comics from its publishing of the translated version of the Berserk manga. Those boys publish some violent stuff.

For me it is reports from former employees about how the owner treats the people who work for him. Google "Rogue brewery employee abuse" and there is a long list of complaints about some pretty disgusting behavior.

I can deal with overpriced beers (though most of their bombers I see aren't higher than others) and I occasionally really like a gimmicky beer, but when I hear negative things like that about the owners of a brewery makes me skip a brewery almost every time.

See the little winkie I added in post? Means I was jess' kid din' -- not looking for litigation. :grinning:

But I highly doubt the little Michigan brewery is going to attempt to make waves -- Dark Horse will send Abe Sapien after them! :stuck_out_tongue:

Not really -- Comic Sans is a complete bastardization of the art of lettering. Besides, it's not even in all caps! :grinning:
Some were, but then the computer lettering era came in (they still didn't use Comic Sans!) -- see the link I added above.

Yes, Alien's Rogue was a brutal series also.

I wasn't trying to being overly argumentative, just further explain my original point.

I think Dark Horse Brewing's beef would be with Rogue, not the comic company. That is if Rogue distributes this beer to the same markets that they sell in, which is 12 states http://www.darkhorsebrewery.com/find-dark-horse-beer/

Random Comic Sans hate already on the first page of the thread. The Internet has disappointed me once again.

It's not really random because the whole thread is based on a beer in honor of a comic book character.

Wasn't it Charlton, which was using mechanical lettering in the '60's-'70's (still called the "Silver Age", I guess), that credited it to "A. MACHINE".

(Did they use it for all their comics- even the Ditko stuff?)

There were a few in the 60s using a "headliner" machine in an attempt to churn books out faster -- of course, aesthetics suffered -- see label above.
I've seen Ditko letter his own stuff, but when he was working at EC Comics in the 50s they used the Leroy Lettering Machine quite a bit -- probably even carried over to the 60s Charlton stuff. Still looked better than Comic Sans. :grinning:
