I got a bottle of Helldorado a few months ago. I am planning on aging it but, I wanted to know if anyone has had one of the previous releases before. If you had one right away and aged the second, what are your thoughts on the taste? Thanks in advance!

Eh I think this is the first year it was bottled so unless there was an aged keg or something you may be out of luck

I have a bottle of it, I will be opening it for NBS tomorrow. I'm pretty sure if you sat on it for a couple of years at least it will be pretty tasty.

    Cheers!

I did a (draft) three year vertical over the summer at the brewery. I unfortunately don't remember specific tasting notes, but I do remember that neither myself or the other two people with me were terribly impressed with the aged versions.

Great beer, but just didn't become anything more grand when aged (for myself and my friends, at least). I'm going to drink my bottle before the end of the year.

I think 2015 was the first year it was bottled. Check the Firestone website.

    Had 2015 on draft. Good.

Had 2015 in bottle. Didn't like. Wondered if it was the same beer? But other BA people have confirmed that somehow the bottle version didn't taste as good. It was super boozy, but also very muted at the same time. Letting it warm helped somewhat, but I'm hoping aging will take the edge off it.

Had 2014 on draft just last month at FW XIX Anniversary party, based on the pourer's recommendation. Delicious.

I'd wait on aging the 2015 bottle personally, since I wasn't a huge fan "fresh".

Had a bottle fresh, Was an outstanding beer IMO. I'm only "aging" my other bottle for as long as I can resist drinking it!

Having one right now, tasty, but most likely will not buy again.

    Cheers!

Isn't the general rule, if you haven't tried it, drink it fresh. Especially with Firestone beers, I have found that aging doesn't lend it any favors. They typically come out of the gate ready to be consumed. So it's just a matter of how long can you go without drinking it.
