I'm really excited about this one... Hits the brewery tomorrow. Hoping to get a couple bottles in LA. Let me know if you see any!

The distributors are so frustrating with FW proprietor's vintage beers! The first batch of Stickee Monkee took like two months to get here, tho I believe some Sucabas have arrived closer to the release time.

Drove up to Barrelworks for the release yesterday. They had 2013, 2014 and 2015 Helldorado all on tap. 2015 was clearly the best of the three, followed by 2014. Not sure if this specific FW vintage doesn't age as well, or if it's that the recipe is dialed in for 2015 since they had plans to bottle it. Either way I grabbed a few bottles.

From my mileage, FW stuff doesn't vintage well in general even if we all collect verticals for some dumb reason. Every time I've done a vertical of Sucaba, Parabola and the anniversary blends, I am constantly telling myself that fresher is better with Firestone. They release the beer at just the right time to drink it.

In general that is probably true, though I still prefer the 2014 Parabola.

I've noticed this especially with Sucaba. When it's aged, it loses that special something when it's fresh. Should be interesting to see how Helldorado turns out

Interesting stuff with this beer. First off, the page on their site says "extremely limited". None of the other Vintage Series say that. They don't even have it pictured on the Vintage Series page.
And secondly, it's not even listed in their Firestone finder drop down. They even have Double DBA and the Anni beers on there still.
I really wonder how hard it's going to be get this beer? I wonder how much was bottled.

**edit - 3,500 cases, according to the website. Same as the other Vintage Series.**

In the past, I've noticed it doesn't show up on the finder page until a distributor gets the beer and tells them what store it went to. Happens to me every year when I am searching for Parabola and the Anniversary beers

It's also the first bottling of this one, so I wouldn't expect the website to be fully updated, even with that new Duvel money.

Also, I predict the next big freak out will be this hitting costcos and folks spooging all over themselves chasing dem warehouse trucks.

    Just sayin'.

FYI - I heard from a reliable source today that the Bay Area should see it next week.

Yeah, may as well go look at your local costcos, they're dropping.

Great - I'm now living in the punchline of a beer acquisition joke. Sigh...I really liked this when trying it up at the brewery three weeks ago.
