Oddly enough, I liked this year's Sucaba just fine, and I can still find it in stores. Stickee Monkee, too.

 

Heading out today to TW in northridge - Socal . It's available.

Huh? He does:

 

A couple of BevMos in East Bay got 18 each, 1 bottle limit, not displayed, and perhaps not all have gotten it yet. Website not showing them either.

No sighting at East Bay Whole Foods yet, just like Stickee which seemed to arrive 2-3 weeks after all other retail locations

 

Los Altos Whole Foods blew through four cases by noon. Two people bought entire cases.

Screw you, hoarding a-holes.

 

I drank a bottle tonight. I'd call it Sucaba lite. Less bitter.

 

Bevmo Manhattan Beach has Helldorado. Limit of 2. You have to ask for it. It's behind the counter and I didn't ask how much they had left.

Two possible things happened here:

1. They went to a limit after seeing people buy cases,
2. maybe the beer dude stepped out a while and his replacements sold cases,
3. I misunderstood what the beer dude was telling me.

Probably #3. LOL

 

What a way to sell craft beer...

 

Haha yeah maybe...I strolled in there at 2 and picked up one with no problem, and the beer dude said there were more around if i wanted to come back to pick up another.

 

I actually just posted this in another Helldorado related thread... but my local bar is serving it in SOCAL tomorrow night at some point. I'm looking forward to it, as i've never had it previously and it's nice to have on draft in the backyard.

Got mine at BevMo Oceanside. Had to ask about it. They made up some excuse that corporate made them limit it to 1 per transaction. Not a huge deal to me, we just bought them separately. Even then we had to convince them to sell one to my GF even though she was the one who asked about it originally. Really dumb, not like I had 6 people with me.

 

I'm sold

 

Total Wine in Tustin has them. Have to ask for them behind the Special Order counter (they hides them there.)

 

Ha ha! I got totally hosed today. I went into Tustin Liquor (which I rarely go into, but it's close by) to pick up a couple IPAs for a trade. As I was buying Thrillseeker, the guy behind the counter said he has a box behind the counter for "special customers". Pretty funny that I'm "special" since the last time I was in there was two or three months ago. The box was obviously Helldorado, so I said I might as well take a bottle. I had no idea what it should have been priced at, but I was charged $21.95. I should have known better. Just five minutes earlier I couldn't believe my perceived good fortune as I noticed a least a dozen BCBS and another dozen BC Barleywines on a shelf. Then I saw that he was selling them for 19.99 a bottle. Just moments before that I glanced at a I Love It! from Noble with a best before date over a month ago. It may be a bit longer than two or three months before I return.

 

Maybe people just assume it's an adjunct stout...
