British beer pairs very well with their music. Hell, ALL beer pairs well with their music.

Yeah. Amazing that the same country that gave us the Fabs, Stones, and Zep also gave us the Bay City Rollers. Course, we also gave the world Pliny and Camo.

Cumbrian legendary ales makes a solid American pale ale called American invasion.

While not a strictly English style, Samuel Smith's Pure Brewed Lager Beer proves that England can pump out a crisp, clean beer that holds up well when served ice cold. The malt in that thing is fantastic.

Hops are pretty awesome, and we're obviously loving our hops revolution here in the States. In fact, we may be reaching the climax of that revolution ... a lot of our smaller, younger brewers are bypassing the American pale ale style outright and going straight to our IPA and double IPA.

Samuel Smith Oatmeal stout and Fuller's 1845. I already loved the mad Brits, even before I found out about these excuisite brews.

Oh man, that post is making me so thirsty.

Love how this instantly became an England appreciation thread.

humpho, keep trying those imports, but let this illustrate that you should also keep your home stuff near and dear.

That's exactly what I'm doing. I'm a just a fan of great beer regardless of where it's from. I was just showing some love for the American beers I've tried and my love of hops. But I do love homegrown too.

Oh Humpho you have much to learn about the beer being made in the UK. But do not worry young padawan, you are in the right place. These are all breweries I've had at least one incredible, mind-blowing beer from. And because they're British you get them so much fresher than most imported American beers.

    The Kernel
    Partizan
    Tiny Rebel
    Summer Wine
    Beavertown
    Moor
    Wild Beer Co
    Buxton
    Hardknott
    Cromarty
    Magic Rock
    Thornbridge
    Dark Star
    Arbor

The best thing about most is the best of both worlds aspect, of having great flavours from these US inspired beers, made greater by the use of casks. Having tried stuff like Urban IPA from both keg and cask, it is undeniable that cask conditioned beer provides a better depth of flavour.

and to those posting Sam Smiths and Wells & Youngs: bad BAs, stop that. Stop that now.

    Welcome.

I'm pleased with the American beer scene for sure, but the idea of having a variety of lower-gravity cask beers readily available makes me deeply envious of UK folk.

    We might consider changing places.
