New guy here. Was looking for a place to purchase some Ayinger Celebrator Dopplebock and found BA. So… there you have it. Cheers to all.
Well that was a fortuitous shopping search for you! I'm glad that you found us. Hang around as much as you'd like, and explore the site to discover all of the features. Cheers to you too.
And my crystal ball is predicting some good times ahead for you. Be sure to check out the Regional Forums. The below is a good place to start. https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/forums/southwest.96/
Maybe you should check out the Texas breweries-- I see a Doppelbock from Goliad and even one from Shiner. Prost!
Real Ale Brewing in Blanco, Texas is a favorite of mine. Haven't been to the brewery yet, but on the list of things to do. Community Brewing in Dallas is another that I like a lot. I'm getting toward 60 years old and remember the limited brews that you could choose from. I remember a buddy from high school, we would get a 12 pack of Old Milwaukee for $5.00... we thought we were pretty cool sipping on those suds. We weren't, and it was bad in comparison to what is available now. Great times we live in for craft beers, so many to choose from.
Welcome to Beer Advocate @LymanC ! I'm hoping to make a Winter beer focused trip down to Texas this or next Winter, and will keep Real Ale Brewing and Community Brewing in mind. Would also like to visit Live Oak Brewing and Saint Arnold Brewery. I am of similar age, and while Budweiser and Old Style are good (at least for me) AALs, most of my friends drank (still drink) Miller Lite, and I was mostly a bourbon/whiskey guy until fortunately giving that up as my primary alcoholic beverage for beer, and I'm grateful we live in the current craft beer era! Cheers, and I hope to see you around on the message boards!
