So i'm sure this has been done on a million and one occasions.

But i'll be staying at a hotel in the Brookline area tomorrow night and i'll be around boston some on saturday afternoon.

If there's only one bar and bottle shop that can be hit, what are they?

Need to scoop some beer to take back home.

    Please and thank you.

Oh i'll be coming from NYC if that helps out which beers or breweries i'd be looking for in particular.

DO THIS. And if you are staying at the Courtyard or Holiday Inn, its a pretty enjoyable walk.

Big thanks to all for the rec's.

    Stayed in the courtyard marriot.

Got up saturday morning and strolled over to Bay State to grab some bottles to take home.

Unfortunately I had my little brother and we weren't allowed in to the publick house when I tried to get in.

I'm pretty sure I've seen children in there before, but if you tried to sit at the bar instead of a table I can understand them not allowing you.

Nah it was like ten or so at night, had gotten up to Boston pretty late and wanted to grab dinner.

Apparently after 9 they don't allow anybody under the age of 21 into the bar at all, even if they plan on sitting at a table getting service and ordering food.

I was pissed because I had to go elsewhere without a good draft list but I can see where they are coming from I guess.

How is Hops N Scotch lately? Last time I went it was pretty much just N Scotch, but I've heard that it's come around.
