Help Adding Images to Forum Posts

My photo test

 

I've tried several times to get a 3rd party photo app to upload pics, and never really figured it out. I would love to join the WBYDN and NBS threads but not worth the hassle of all the steps. If its not just a quick copy/paste action, not interested.

 

Keep in mind that many feel that pics are critical, but, one can still post in the threads you mention and we would welcome your doing so. I rarely post pics as I am an old fart who does not run around w his "smartphone" !

That being said when i do post pics I use imgur. Copy and paste a direct link works for me from my PC

Hi folks. I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm struggling to learn how to attach a picture in my posts. I upload my photos to my Google Drive after I resize them at resizeyourimage.com. I then make sure the pic is shareable. I then try to attach the pic's URL to the Image button that is located to the left of the Emoji button above the post I have creating on beer advocate.

But my picture does not show after I hit the Create button for my post. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? I have read various Picture Help threads on beer advocate but nothing seems to help me. Any advice is welcome. Thanks!

 

IDK anything about Google Drive, but is it possible that "shareable" is different from "public"?

I can "share" pictures from Dropbox, for example, but I have to tell Dropbox who I am sharing with. Perhaps Google Drive is the same.

 

Not from a PC. Use the "Direct Link" and enter that in the image button link.

 

1. Postimages.org
2. Choose images
3. Pick your size then head back to the home screen.
4. Your pic should be up and say upload complete.
5. Scroll down and copy "Hotlink for forums."
6. Come here and paste the link in the body of your message.

 

Here's what I do -

-drag the photo out of the photo app onto my desktop

- Postimage.org - - (Choose Images)

- select the photo from the desktop menu -- (uploading/upload complete)

- copy the direct link from the url selections -

- back to reply on your BA forum -

-click the photo icon -

- paste your copied url link in the window that pops up and click 'insert'

- and there ya go -

I use Flickr. Fast and easy, especially on a desktop but also possible from phone when necessary. Like...

 

I may be mistaken but I'm not certain one can use a google drive link for posting images in the forum. Recommend using image hosting sites like postimages or imgur like others have mentioned above. Good luck.

 

Wait, this is difficult for people?

1. go to https://imgur.com/
2. drag an image from your computer there
3. right click image once it says "upload complete" and click "Copy image address"
4. on BA forums, click the image button (it's to the right of the smiley icon above your post) and paste the address you copied from step 3; hit enter
5. the image should now be in the post; continue as normal.

for those with an iPhone X, i can't seem to get the imgur app to create a link that will post in a forum. I have the most recent iOS and imgur app. i tried @SierraNevallagash 's suggestion and it only posts the link to the image, the image doesn't display. if this is just an imgur thing, i can find something else but was curious because imgur worked well in the past. admittedly, i haven't posted much recently the photo above was posted by a pc
