Help Adding Images to Forum Posts

Yep. That's what I use.

 

The box you type a reply into, whether a quote or straight reply. Paste the copied link right into the body.

 

Well that will save a step. Thanks.

 

Before you post the reply you'll only see the copied code, but the pic will show up once you click.

Direct Link copied and pasted into the tool bar "image" tool.

 

I like using the image tool because the image shows up while I am still in the reply box. IOW, I don't have to wait until I post to see the image. Conservation of clicks is pretty low on my list of concerns.

For all the gripes about imgur, I've rarely had issues with it. But, then, I use my computer, not my phone for posting.

(Curmudgeonly comment: I've never understood the fascination some have for using tools for tasks they are inadequately designed for. Just because you have a screw driver in your hand does not mean you should use it to drive tent stakes into the ground.)

 

When composing a post one can click More Options then click Preview. The image(s) will be displayed in the Preview.

 

Never seen that -- I'll look for it...

*And I don't see it -- is this only on a mobile device, or maybe on certain browsers? I use a Mac and Firefox for my desktop. My phone is Android with Google apps.

Yes, I know that. But the image tool previews the image directly.

 

On my PC, it is a light gray button to the right of the "Post Reply" button.

 

See edit -- it was easy to see when I went to hit "reply."

And after 17 years -- that may be the first time I've ever actually seen that option!

Although I quoted your post in my previous reply, the info relayed was mainly for the benefit of those who weren't aware of the other way to skin the cat, just as I wasn't aware of the BBCode option.

Edit: I think that I started using it was because of @cavedave .

 

That's probably not the name most people would use but that's what I came up with when I composed my question. It would be nice if there was an obvious name for it so that no one would be confused when the real name is used.

 

There should be an easier way. I still have to go through Imgur as well

 

Maybe if Untappd has deep enough pockets so that its users can directly upload uncropped, large-byte pics to that platform that they'll make changes for BA to do the same.

 

I have not read the 100+ posts above, but this sequence for IMGUR always works for my on my laptop running Windows 10:

1. Open your account on IMGUR
2. select the "new post" button at upper left
3. drag your photo file to the field that says "drop images here"
4. select your account icon at upper right (next the the button that says "support IMGUR")
5. Select "Images" from the dropdown list
6. click on the image you want to post
7. find "direct link" from the list of options and hit the "copy" button.
8. go to your BA post and select the photo icon.
9. paste the link in and the image should appear.
