    Hi guys,

I was at a wedding this past weekend and they had a really nice local IPA at the open bar but I stupidly forgot to write down the name of it and I can’t seem to find it anywhere.

It’s either from a brewery in North or South Carolina and it had a guy in a canoe or kayak on the front. The label was blue and I vaguely remember the brewery had Carolina in the name. The beer was 5.5% alcohol. Hopefully someone can locate this beer for me.

    Thanks in advance!

Maybe you can call the venue and find out

If it was local, the location would help narrow the field. There's at least a couple hundred breweries in North Carolina alone...I'd assume NC would more likely be blue. You could go to the Places section of Beer Advocate and look at the list of breweries from NC and SC and see if anything jogs your memory.

Kona Castaway IPA fits all of your criteria. Well, except for the Carolina thing. And it's 6%.

    HTH.

Unless it was a special request by the wedding party chances are whatever the venue was serving is widely and easily available in the area. If you are on Untappd then maybe look up the venue to see what beers have been checked in there recently. Even if it was not at the wedding you attended I'm guessing they serve pretty much the same stuff at most of the events put on by the venue so tracking those ticks may help.

Thomas Creek Brewery Class Five IPA is most likely the beer you’re looking for

It was in Greenville, SC and I’m pretty sure that it was a special request by the bridal party because they were loading the leftover cases of it after the wedding.

Tried contacting the venue and they unfortunately couldn’t help me. It also wasn’t anything from Thomas Creek Brewery because that is one of the first ones I checked.

They redid the label. It’s 5.5%, blue, has a guy in a kayak, and is from Greenville. I doubt there are that many coincidences.
