I know a guy from Ann Arbor who comes to my store once a month to shop for beers available in Ohio and not Michigan. He offered to bring some stuff down that I couldn't get in Ohio. So what are some good beers available in Michigan that are mostly readily available. Big fan of mostly any IPA's and a stout every once in a while...
Yup, fresh Huma Lupa Licious is right up there with the best of them. Otherwise I don't know if there's a ton you can't get in Ohio that's in Michigan... The seekabrew comparison link is here. Cheers.
Brewery Vivant. They make Belgian styles including Belgian IPA's. I have seen some Kuhnhenn's in AA. Odd Side Citra Pale ale is also good. Maybe even a growler of an IPL from Wolverine State Brewing.
I would definitely recommend Shorts or Oddside. Both are really good beers. Citra is available in nearly every store I've been to, and it is beyond wonderful. Shorts just released their variety pack which includes Huma and Lil Weezy. I really enjoy all of the Shorts offerings.
I agree with the Short's, Odd Sides and Greenbush recommendations. Depending on how generous he is, Kuhnhenn would be like, an hourish drive from AA and could result in a killer growler of something they don't bottle. Just to throw it out there.
