I stumbled across this website while I was researching beer of the month clubs that send only IPA's that I can give as a gift. The person I'm buying for is a huge fan of Arctic Panzer Wolf from 3 Floyds, and beers similar to that. His birthday is coming up soon, and I thought this might be a nice gift! I can't find anything that sends ONLY IPA's though -- do any of you have suggestions for beers similar to Arctic Panzer Wolf? I could have my local liquor store order them in, and then just package them as a gift rather than the beer of the month thing....

I'd be most appreciative of any advice!

In my experience BotM clubs are a complete waste of money. You're much better off buying local beer. I'm not sure what's similar to Arctic Panzer Wolf in the great lakes area, but I'm sure someone around here does.

Not sure where you are located, but you probably have access to several great IPAs and DIPAs if you are in the Great Lakes region. Dark Horse Double Crooked Tree and Founder's Double Trouble are solid DIPAs. Short's makes some good IPAs also if you are in Michigan (ControversALE, Prolonged Enjoyment are out now). Bell's Two Hearted is regarded as one of the best IPAs around. Good luck!

What state are you located in? That would help us give you more specific answers.

Whatever state you live in, you should be able to find a variety of great IPAs from a local beer shop.

All the other recommendations are good ones. If he likes Arctic Panzer Wolf, he will probably love Dreadnaught also by Three Floyds, and Double Trouble by Founders. Both are great Imperial IPA's near the area, fairly common.

If you are looking to seal the deal, order him some Pliny the Elder from a California wine/beer retailer that ships their products. Here are a few off the web, maybe someone has a recommendation for a good shop? Also make sure what you are ordering is fresh, and give it to him right away.
