Hey fellow brew lovers. In Atlanta for four days and looking to take some excellent finds back to Indiana. Who has lay of the land for some carry out, local gems and hopefully some 120 minute, Lost Abbey, Wedding Cake and any solid sours. Anyone heads to Indiana I can help guide you and return the favor.
Where exactly will be staying? If intown, the places with best options are Hop City, Ale Yeah (Decatur) and Green's Package Store. If you have access to a car you could conceivably hit all 3, although selection won't vary too much. Green's and AY probably have the biggest selection but all 3 are solid choices.
Hey thank you for the recommendations. I am staying next to the Perimeter Mall. I am heading to Ale now.
^^^^Definitely great advice. Throw Tower liquor into the mix. As far as the beers you referenced we do not get 120 minutes, because of ABV caps. Lost Abbey is limited here, I saw agave maria at Hop city, but that is the only seasonal I have seen besides the year rounds. Wedding cake?? do you mean Mexican cake? if you like sours pick up some Westbrook Gose it is my favorite summer beer. there is are few breweries around town but the ones with sours would be blue tarp and orpheus.
Replying late, but Ale Yeah Roswell isn't open on Mondays. Decatur is, at 4pm. Guess you found that out by now though.
RDMII...HA. I did. I went there and saw the paper sign in the window. Boo. Going Thursday before I leave. I went to Farmburger after that and enjoyed an awesome burger man. Good stuff if you have the chance.
Unfortunately, Georgia has a 14% cap on beer so you won't find 120 and we're so far from California we don't get a lot of Lost Abbey's best.
You can find deliverance and a agave maria sitting around alot of places still. High prices keep it around longer. Agave Maria is damn good though.
Thank you all for your help! I brought back to Indiana a case of Gose and 5 bombers 2 of which were Lost Abbey and three others were from GA and SC.
