Fellow BA's, My friend is down visiting Orange Beach, Alabama. We are from Colorado, and I was wondering what was down there that I should have him get to bring back to me. Preferably anything that doesn't get distributed to CO and is packaged in a bomber or 4 pack please. Your help is much appreciated!! Nick
Try Liquid Latitude. You should find some Cigar City in Gulf Shores. Mostly Jai Alai and Maduro Brown. Check SeekABrew.com and compare AL distro with CO to see if there is something you would like to try and find.
Just got back from the area. Maggie's (https://m.facebook.com/MaggiesBottleTail?_rdr) is a small bottle shop but I had the most luck there. Go in to Perdido Key FL and hit up Publix for Jai Alai.
Maggie's is a mile from the main beach strip. Easy to get to. Convince him to eat at Cosmos next door while he's there.

As mentioned Maggies is a decent bottle shop. Small but will have the best selection in the area. If your friend can make it to Pensacola have him go to Hopjacks. They typically have very good selection. if he is in to beer he could also go to Pensacola Bay Brewery. I live in MS just below Memphis TN and those are my go to spots when I go to the beach.
Local packaging breweries: Good People (Snake Handler DIPA is popular with hop heads) and Back Forty should all have cans and/or bottles in the local stores. If your friend can score Straight To Ale as well, bonus
Headed that way (Orange Beach) this weekend. 2 years ago I was able to find Cigar City pretty easily. Last year, I could not find anything from them. I also remember that Great Divide was pretty common 2 years ago while last year it was scarce. Anyone know if they still distribute down there?
Both CC and GD still distribute in AL. Jai Alai and Maduro are fairly easy to find here. Last time I was in Bham they had Invasion and Florida Cracker but seeing those here is rare. Also from my own experience as well as my friends' in going down to FL you dont really see a noticably larger CC selection where they regularly stock more than JA and MB until you get over toward the Jacksonville area.
the biggest problem with Alabama's supply of Great Divide is Birmingham and Huntsville. Those two cities would, if allowed, consume 175% of the state's allocation of all GD beers.
Rouse's in Gulf Shores has a great beer selection. Seriously one of the better ones I have seen in a Grocery Store. Bombers from Rogue, GD, Abita, etc. They only had Jai Alai from CC, but they had tons of it. We actually have more CC beers in Bham than they get in the panhandle or pensacola. I would start at Rouses for a good selection and good prices.
Any good special releases and seasonals available in lower Alabama right now? I'm headed to the Orange Beach area tomorrow.
Was there this past weekend, Back Forty and Abita both have some seasonals out. Rouses has cases of Jai Alai. I would also suggest a drive over to Pensacola to Bamboozled or Hopjacks Filling Station. They have lots more CCB there than in AL and they get other brands like DFH, Bear Republic, Pensacola Bay, etc.
