ao I went down to prepare to bottle an ipa today. When I looked at the secondary it appears to have a bunch of stuff floating at the top. It is light whiteish/yellow. The beer has been in secondary since last Sunday and this "topping" was not there yesterday. I can also see little pieces of it floating in the secondary. Any idea what this is? I smelled the beer and it smells amazing. No sourness or vinegar. Is there any reason why I shouldn't just rack the beer out and bottle it?
I am on the app and it won't let me post pics unfortunately. From everything I read it seems like yeast cakes so I'll get it out of there tonight and we will see what happens. Thanks for the response.
