There is a red ale I had once, long time ago, that was amazing. I am pretty sure it was out of Pennsylvania and it was made by two brothers. But not the two brothers company. I vaguely remember a picture or bio of these two brothers on the bottle.

    Any ideas?

Troegs Hop Back? The Troegner brothers usually get a mention on their labels.

Looks good, real good, but I don't think that is it. Thanks, perhaps this thread will give me other red ale suggestions.

Two to five years ago I would say, and yeah it was that good I remember it until today.

Well, your "long time ago" and mine seem to be different from one another . In that case I'll stick with Troegs and point you towards Nugget Nectar.

My thought too, but the label description doesn't jibe (has mentioned brothers, but hasn't depicted them historically, I think). Would like more information--something to indicate location? Doesn't sound like OP was in PA when he drank it, so maybe it found its way to him by trade or via distro? Either way, that could help.

But the "red ale" category is a bit blurry with a bunch of misnomers; and easier if state was listed and you could sort.

Can you remember where you were when you had it?

Maybe an Erie Brewing Company Ale?

It's kind of red, though not technically a red ale.

Was is a malty red ale or a hoppy red ale? that may narrow it down.

Was it Weyerbacher Rapture? It isn't made anymore and your label description doesn't quite jive from what I can remember but I think it was fairly popular at the time:

    Rapture
Rapture is a 6.7% ABV American Wild Red Ale. This ale underwent 100% of its fermentation and 18 months of aging in pinot noir wine barrels on a collection of micro flora that created wonderful flavors of berry fruits, oak and a pronounced, yet quite pleasant, tartness.

Stoudts Revel Red is decent too:
