Hey guys, I homebrewed a lot for 3 years before I started brewing commercially. I recently started brewing at home again and I had a blast! It reminded me of why I got into brewing in the first place and now I've got the homebrew bug really badly. I brewed two double IPA's last week and other than crappy efficiency and having to collect extra wort and extend my boils, everything went pretty well. However, some of the equipment was new to me (new mash tun and burner, and I didn't have a pump) and since it was kind of spur of the moment, I didn't set myself up well. I mashed and sparged inside since it was cold out, then carried my kettle outside, then after my boil, I carried the kettle down my drive way so I could use my truck bed to get some height for gravity feeding my plate chiller. Needless to say, it was not an ideal set up for an easy day. I found my pump, so I can fix some of the excess lifting and carrying, but I realized that if I could boil indoors, I could make brewing at home really simple. I used to use a home made heatstick years ago, but I did get a lot of sugars burnt on the element. It seems to me that even just three or four years later, there is a lot more equipment available today than there was back then. I was looking at Blichmann boilcoils, but they seem pretty expensive for something that still needs a controller added to it. I was wondering if anyone could point me towards something that would let me bring my boil inside, and ideally is not DIY (I've come to accept the fact that while I love projects, I never really complete them. If it is functional, it is a complete project for me, and that typically results in some pretty ghetto crap that I lose interest in using)
